At Tine wa Azzaytoune
L’installation « At Tine wa Azzaytoune » est composée d’une photo « At Tine » et de deux vidéo « Azzaytoune L » et « Azzaytoune R »
« At Tine » est une photographie réalisée après plusieurs semaines de confinement. Destiné à être dépoté et planté en pleine nature, l’arbuste se retrouve à subir le même traitement que les humains, coincé sur le petit balcon d’appartement au cœur d’une ville qui elle-même est coupée du monde et surtout de la nature.
A l’heure où la nature se déploie partout dans le monde à l’abri de la pollution, « At Tine » se retrouve coincé dans un pot comme asphyxié.
La vidéo de base qui a servi à la réalisation des deux vidéos, « Azzaytoune L » et « Azzaytoune R », a été filmée une année avant la pandémie, pratiquement jour pour jour. Elle a été tournée dans la région de Fès.
« Azzaytoune L » représente le paysage de gauche sur lequel les oliviers défilent de façon accélérée sur les 5 premières secondes, puis au ralenti.
« Azzaytoune R » représente le paysage de droite sur lequel les oliviers défilent au ralenti, puis il y a une accélération sur les 5 dernières secondes
Le spectateur pourra aussi ressentir cet inconfort que nous avons senti au tout début du déconfinement, une fois qu’on nous a rendu notre liberté mais qu’on n’arrivait toujours pas à savoir si le temps défile ou s’il était encore figé.
La music est un extrait instrumental « Inas Inas » de Rouicha, un chanteur berbère et maitre de l’outar (un instrument en bois à trois cordes pincées qui s’apparente au luth) très connu que le père de l’artiste écoutait souvent quand elle était enfant.
The installation “At Tine wa Azzaytoune” consists of a photo “At Tine” and two videos “Azzaytoune L” and “Azzaytoune R”.
“At Tine” is a photograph taken after several weeks of confinement. Intended to be removed and planted in the middle of nature, the shrub finds itself undergoing the same treatment as humans, stuck on the small apartment balcony in the heart of a city which itself is cut off from the world and especially from the nature.
At a time when nature is spreading everywhere in the world sheltered from pollution, “At Tine” finds himself stuck in a pot as if suffocated.
The basic video that was used to make the two videos, “Azzaytoune L” and “Azzaytoune R”, was filmed a year before the pandemic, practically to the day. It was shot in Béni Sadden, in the region of Fez.
“Azzaytoune L” represents the landscape on the left on which the olive trees pass in an accelerated way for the first 5 seconds, then in slow motion.
“Azzaytoune R” represents the landscape on the right on which the olive trees pass in slow motion, then there is an acceleration over the last 5 seconds.
The spectator will be able to feel this discomfort that we felt at the very beginning of the deconfinement, once we were given our freedom but we still could not know if time is running or if it was still frozen.
The music is an instrumental excerpt “Inas Inas” by Rouicha, a Berber singer and master of the outar (a wooden instrument with three plucked strings which is similar to the lute) very famous that the artist’s father often listened to when she was a child.
